Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
